The POWER of a Seed

By Rena A.Washington

I was out walking yesterday to get some exercise, as we’ve been complying with the #StayAtHome orders in our area, when I looked down and saw this…..The first thing that came to mind was, “The Power of a Seed.”

When planted into fertile ground the power of a seed cannot be matched. It will always break through the toughest circumstances in order to reach its greatest potential, no matter what that is. So whether it’s yielding fruit to eat, becoming a tree for shade, or simply a beautiful lawn it has purpose to fulfill.

Think about it this way, We are God’s seeds, and he has sown us into different areas and into the lives of others to be a blessing. Here’s some food for thought:

Where are you sowing?

Will you have a harvest in due season?

What fruit will you bear?

Lately I’ve been writing about purpose, and encouraging you to seek God to understand what yours is. When you finally tap into your purpose and begin sowing your own seed, there is no stopping the blessings that will follow!

Someone needs what you have, and there are so many opportunities to sow. This Blog is one of mine, and I pray it’s a blessing to you. Your seeds can be :

  • Encouraging Words- that will take root and change someone’s mindset.

  • Time Invested- that will allow others to know you care, and may encourage them to do the same.

  • Tangible Items- Catering to needs makes a big difference physically and mentally.

  • Money- Who doesn’t need that, even the bible tells us that money answers all things in Ecclesiastes 10:19

  • Personal Services Rendered- Whatever you do well to help someone else. Doing hair is how I feed my children, but I have sown into others at times without taking a dime, because I know that personal appearance makes a world of difference in attitude and confidence.

This list goes on and on but I trust that you understand what I’m getting at.

Even though distractions come to slow progress, I see my seeds blooming all around me everyday. Someone will remind me of a conversation we had that changed their outlook on life, an unexpected gift will show up at my door, a $25 tip on top of a regular charge for a haircut, or just a phone call to say “I just want to encourage the encourager.”

Sometimes when you feel like you’re at your breaking point and you can’t see your way clearly, those seeds you’ve sown begin to bloom and yield everything back to you that you need to get through your tough circumstances.

So you see, We should never neglect to sow because we all want and need to reap a harvest. Do a little soul searching today. Ask God what seeds can you sow In Purpose so that you will reap accordingly and begin to live in great expectation because one thing’s for sure “As long as the earth endures seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, and day and night will never cease.” Gen 8:22

I wanna leave you with this…..

Galatians 6:9 Be not Weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

BE Encouraged! Don’t quit before the blessing!

❤️,

Rena
